How and Why you Should Dare Delete Unwanted People from Your List

Uncategorized Sep 09, 2021

You may not believe what I just did!

Would you dare delete over 1000 people from your list?

I dare you to delete people!

It sounds a little crazy, but I just had to do it.

I had to delete over 1000 people from my email list.

Why? Because if we are not engaging – if we are not working with each other, if we are not creating a win-win experience, then what’s the point???

If I am not leveraging the power of the Inbox to nurture a prospective client through the buyer’s journey then what is it all for?

That’s right. I decided to do that today.

I mean let me just tell you that I always clean my list after every email marketing campaign.

But it had been on my mind that since I decided to focus more on working with content creators – speakers, authors, coaches, consultants, podcasters, bloggers, and YouTubers – many of my past clients who were brick and mortar business owners were not interested in me teaching them about how to grow your business online.

I had been noticing that many of them were asking to come off the list because the content was no longer relevant.

Because I do not want to continue emailing someone who does not feel that I can help them, I decided to delete them.

Plus, when I used to see my list with so many thousands of people, but I was not seeing that they were really opening or clicking – I did not feel that was good for my confidence as an email marketer.

Why am I sharing this with you?

Perhaps it is part of my cleansing process, that I am now going through.

I believe that every day is a new beginning because every new day affords the opportunity to begin anew without looking back.

I say that because it motivates me to release yesterday and begin brand new.

I am also sharing this with you because I hope it encourages you to do the same. I mean come on, who is benefiting from being on your email list if they are not really engaging. If you see a thousand email contacts inside your database you may think that you have 1000 clients but in reality, you do not. So, let’s not kid ourselves.

Go ahead, do it!

Go ahead and clean your own email list. It will do you some good. I promise.

If you are wondering what are the benefits of a clean email list?
Let me explain.

The Top 7 Benefits of a Clean Email List

1) Better sender reputation
2) Lower email bounce rates
3) Fewer email spam complaints
4) Reach the inbox, not the spam folder
5) Better open and click rates
6) Increased conversions
7) Higher ROI

Now What?

What do you do after you have deleted all those email contacts?

You begin building your list of quality and qualified prospective clients.

How do you do that?

Very simple.

There are many ways that you can grow your list. One of my top ways of growing my client list (see how they are not just an email list!!!) is to create an online challenge.
